By using whatshappeningUW (“the Service”) or submitting content to it, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

The Service is intended for the University of Washington community and members of the public age 13 and older. You are responsible for the accuracy of anything you post.

2. Content standards

When submitting events, images, links, or any other content, you agree that it will not:

• Contain profanity, slurs, hate speech, or harassing, threatening, or abusive language in titles, descriptions, host names, or images.
• Include sexually explicit, pornographic, or otherwise adult (18+) images or material. Banner and event images must be suitable for a general audience.
• Promote violence, illegal activity, drugs, or the illegal sale of alcohol or firearms.
• Infringe anyone’s intellectual property, privacy, or other rights.
• Contain spam, scams, malware, or misleading or fraudulent information.
• Impersonate any person or organization or misrepresent your affiliation with one.

You represent that you own or have permission to post any image or content you upload, and grant us a non-exclusive license to display it on the Service.

3. Moderation & removal

Events are reviewed before publication, but we do not guarantee that all content is screened. We may edit, reject, remove, or unpublish any content, and suspend accounts, at our discretion and without notice, especially content that violates Section 2.

4. Accuracy of events

Events are community-submitted and scraped from third-party sources. Details may be incomplete, out of date, or wrong, and events may change or be canceled. Always confirm with the host before attending. We are not responsible for any event or its outcome.

5. No University affiliation

whatshappeningUW is an independent, student-run project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the University of Washington.

6. Disclaimer & limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the Service or reliance on any content.

7. Changes

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
